Manufacturing
We are often called upon to rebuild equipment from the ground up.
These heavy restoration projects often involve modifications such as the replacement of the old military style undercarriage with an updated assembly. Often we discover that certain components, like the existing hydraulics for example, are no longer manufactured and the task of simple replacement becomes more a chore of hybridization with new technologies being adapted and retrofitted to the original equipment.
At Wheeler we know what it takes to modernize almost any unit. Our team, has not only seen it all before, but we have the entire catalogue of Washington drawings on file. We can refer to the original specs and use our knowledge of modern logging practices to rebuild your equipment to handle the rough going.

Parts / Fabrication
After Washington Ironworks, and then TriCan Machinery (who had taken on repair for Washington Yarders) ceased operations, Wheeler Equipment purchased all the patterns and shop drawing for building parts.

Rob Dove knows and can find anything for our customers. His experience and product knowledge has been a great asset to Wheeler Equipment over the years.
Once we have analyzed your needs, we will send drawings to our engineers, who will redesign parts to 21st century standards. We use computer controlled lathe machines to do the replication.
We also bring in 3rd party components when necessary so that every machine we service is fully modernized. We have great relationships with the most trusted names in heavy machinery. We can access brand new engines, transmission and tracks from Caterpillar and John Deere.
